Valentine's Day - Nekkid Hearts

Did I make it?!?! Whew!

I wanted to have this post up much earlier, but, well... life happened and I didn't even get home until almost 10 PM. I've spent the last hour and a half editing photos for you all so you can see this Valentine's Day manicure before the day is over! No need to thank me, I'm happy to do it. (haha)

This look is completely inspired by the amazing Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. I saved an image of the manicure she did here a long time ago and I have been meaning to try something similar ever since. Lets get to the photos! (And I warn you, I had a very hard time choosing images, so there are a lot!)

I am so in love with this look! <3

I started with a base of Cult Nails own base coat, Get It On. Then I used a small nail art brush and a couple dotting tools to create the hearts on top. The red I used is none other than Cult Nails Quench and the black is the gorgeous black holo, Color Club Beyond.

I wanted to change things up a little from Chalkboard Nails design, so I did the "blobs" smaller and made them actual hearts for V-Day. I also made them mostly come up from the bottom of the nail.

These free handed designs took me quite some time to execute, but I am so happy with the results and I think it makes a fantastic Valentines Day manicure, but could easily be translated to a regular day design as well.

I did add two generous coats of Seche Vite to smooth everything out, but unfortunately I think I did it a little too thick because I did get some bubbles. Lucky for me, the bubbles aren't visible other than in these up close photos. Haha.

I'm not doing anything special tonight for Valentines Day, but I'm going to enjoy these at home with a couple drinks and my other half while we watch the Olympics.

What are you doing for Valentine's Day? Did you do a special manicure for it?

xoxo

Lex
