I have a super special sorta guest post for you today! This is part one in a two part post today for my very best friend Alix's birthday. Alix moved across the country to California last week, so I won't be able to be there to celebrate with her, but my girlfriend AJ and I wanted to do something special for her. When @misslynnae on Instagram texted me and asked us to do some blue star nails I was all over it! Usually my girlfriend is not the nail polish type. Sure, she knows some of the colors from my talking about them constantly and she's picked up some of our polish lingo, but she doesn't really wear it.
Well that is going to change today! Since Alix is so special to both of us, AJ offered up her nails to my nail art skillz haha! So here we go!
I started out with a base of Illamasqua Phallic (AJ: "You want me to wear something called Phallic?" Yup haha)
After the base dried a bit I added a blue star on her pinkie and then used a gold striper to make shooting star trails across all four nails.
On AJ's thumb, I added a few more blue stars and a sprinkling of tiny gold dots to round out the design. I added a coat of glossy topcoat to seal it all in and really bring out the beautiful shimmer in Phallic.
I'm so happy with how these came out and I hope Alix loves them!

I've done the exact same nail art without the stars any months ago but still haven't gotten around to post it. It's such a cute manicure, and gold and dark blue look great together :)
