Doctor Lacquer - ChromoZONES

I'm slowly getting back to blogging and I have one that has been waiting for a while for you all today. One of my favorite indie brands is Doctor Lacquer, and this ChromoZONES collection is no exception. It definitely does not disappoint. This 7 piece multi-chrome collection has something for everyone, though if you're most of us nail enthusiasts, you're going to want them all.

I'm not going to talk about formula on all of these individually because they were all pretty much the same. The formula is on the thin side, but easy to work with. These lacquers, like most multi-chromes, are sheer, but layer well. I found that doing either 2 coats over black or 3 coats alone came out looking best, but your mileage may vary depending on how thick your coats are and how you like your finished manicure to look. There is some slight brush stroking, so using a light hand is definitely recommended.

Now that the technical stuff is out of the way, lets have a loot at these beauties shall we?

First up is the one that caught my eye right off the bat in the bottles. Here is The Bosom of the Sea.

Look at that beautiful shifty goodness!! I absolutely love love love this shade. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

It is so hard to capture all the colors in these, but Bosom of the Sea shifts mostly from magenta to purple to blue to aqua. There are definitely some other colors hiding in there though!

Next up is another gorgeous shade. This is The World of the Coral Sea.

This is another of my favorites from the collection, and I don't usually say that about greens.

The World of the Coral Sea shifts from a lighter olive green to a lime green to a saturated bright green. As you can see, it is absolutely stunning.

I was happily surprised by how much I loved this shade. It looks great with my skin tone (unlike most green lacquers) and it really has a glowy quality to it.

Next up in this all star cast is The Smoke That Thunders.

This beautiful blue is super shiny, and almost has a foil-like quality to it.

This shift in this lacquer is very subtle, but it is still super pretty.

Next I have one of the more unique and interesting shades from this collection. Here is The Head of the Sky.

Look at all the colors!! This baby shifts beautifully!

I got greens, coppers, magentas and pinks. There was some golden tones in there and some darker, almost maroon. Absolutely stunning.

This polish is so different, I love it. Angelyn definitely outdid herself with this shade.

Back to the cool colors and I have The Dance of the Spirits.

The Dance of the Spirits is a beautiful blue to aqua to green shift. Under more extreme lighting I got purples and magentas, coppers and golds as well. There are so many colors in this beauty that I could just not capture with my camera. I highly recommend you see it for yourself.

You can see a little of the violet and magenta in the photo above, but it still doesn't really do this shade justice.

This next one is another unique shade and one that I didn't expect to like as much as I do. This is The Volcano on a Cornfield.

This shade is so beautiful and the color shift really looks like a gradient on your nail.

This beautiful shift goes from an almost copper to golden yellow to an olive green. Definitely a keeper for me.

Last up is my absolute favorite of this collection. It should come as no surprise to you all that it is the most purple of the seven shades. Here is The Trail of Time.

*squeals in delight* Isn't she just beautiful?!?!

I could literally look at this polish all day. This lacquer is crazy saturated with color and shifts midnight blue to cobalt to indigo to violet and magenta. There is even some almost aqua in there in some lights.

There is nothing I don't absolutely adore about this lacquer. In fact, looking at it now I want to wear it again. *drool*

If I could only recommend that you buy one polish in the collection, it would be this one. So much love.

So what did you think of the Doctor Lacquer ChromoZONES collection? Do you have any multi-chromes? How do these compare? Let me know what you think in the comments!
