Serum N°5 - Heartbreaker, April Showers and Forest Lights

Hi Gals and Guys!

I have some great glitters today. I don't have a lot of time (move is still eating my schedule) so I'm going to get right to it!

I first heard of Serum N°5 a while back and I ordered Day Glow for my collection. I love it and Victoria was a pleasure to do business with, so when she contacted me to do a review of some of her lacquers I was happy to say yes!

Victoria sent me these a while back before I even knew I was moving so I have 3 of the 6 here for you today and I'll have the rest next week.

First up is my favorite of these three, Heartbreaker.

Heartbreaker is a shimmering base with white hexes, black bars and pink and red hearts. I layered one thick coat here over two coats of Cult Nails Devious Nature. I had no formula problems, though I did have to fish for the heart glitter a little. I didn't mind much though, since that is pretty normal for larger glitter.

I wasn't really sure how I would feel about this one, since I don't usually go for lacquer with bar glitter in it, but I ended up really liking this one on and it photographs really well. :)

Next up is April Showers which is usually layered over black or another dark color to show off the shifting shimmer. I decided there were enough swatches over dark colors and wanted to see what it looked like over something bright and cheery.

I did two coats of April Showers, which is a shifting shimmery base with white and shifting color glitters, over three coats of Cult Nails Feel Me Up for these photos.

April showers was a little too frosty for my liking, but it was definitely something very feminine over the lighter color and if you don't mind a little frost you may love it. :)

Last up for today is Forest Lights.

Forest Lights is a gorgeous shimmery green base with white and green glitter. It honestly isn't much to look at in the bottle, but this combo really wowed me!

I layered two coats of Forest Lights over two coats of Illamasqua Rampage for this look. Rampage was the perfect base for this lacquer and I definitely reccomend it for undies if you buy this polish!

Overall I was really happy with these three lacquers. The formulas were great and I had no problems with them. The bottles are fantiastic, with very professional flat brushes, and they hold more than your average polish bottle at 16.7 ml for a full size and 9 ml for a mini. Even the mini bottles (which I usually hate) had a great brush and were easy to work with.

Serum N°5 is available at their website and ranges from $7.00 for a mini to $12.00 for a full size bottle. Heartbreaker is also available in a set with a ring for $18.00

  1. Forest Lights is the first polish from this brand I seem to like! Your swatches are stunning :).
